Cancellations
Should you need to make a cancellation. Please notify us in writing as soon as possible. No refunds are issued if lessons are missed due to holidays, sickness or other absences. Refunds are only made in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Alex Lawrence Swim School or if we are able to resell your space.
Should any lessons be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, force majeure, closure of the pool due to water clarity, chemical imbalance, sickness in the pool or any circumstances outside of our control we will endeavour to offer a make up lesson where possible either at the end of term or during the holidays. Lessons cannot be swapped or transferred due to absence or illness.
We reserve the right to cancel any course of swim lessons and in this instance we will offer you an alternative class. If this is unacceptable we will provide a complete refund.
Covid-19 policy
In light of recent government guidelines we ask that only one parent or carer accompany the children to their swim lesson to avoid crowding poolside and in the changing rooms.
We ask that parents and carers observe the 1m distancing rule when watching and these will be marked out poolside for spectators to observe.
Following Swim England guidelines published June 2020 we will be observing distance measures within the pool and this may mean swimmers sent off at different times.
We will be operating a one way system of entry and exit to the pool are from the changing area. It may be necessary to stagger swimmers exit times out of the pool 2-3 at a time to avoid congestion in the shower areas/ changing rooms but will rotate this weekly so swimmers are allocated the same swim time during term time.
If a swimmer would like to use their own equipment then please bring this along to lessons or we can advise where to purchase your own floats/ noodles etc.
Should a swimmer or close family member exhibit symptoms of covid-19 or be tested positive we ask that you inform us as soon as possible and don’t attend your swim lessons for a fourteen day period. We will have a duty of care if required to contact other members of the class to advise them in line with the government’s track and trace scheme.
Teachers
Teachers work on a termly basis (or for the week during holiday courses) to ensure the children enjoy continuity for their swimming and instruction. However, we reserve the right to provide cover teachers at any time, without prior notice due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances.
Photography
Please note that use of cameras/ camera phones/ videos or any other device that records images of the children in a class environment during lessons is strictly forbidden at all times due to our safeguarding policy. If you would like to take pictures of your child alone during their lesson and are happy to share with us then we would be delighted to receive these for use on our website/ social media pages. Please note these should not include any other children other than your own.
Clothing
Babies and children who still use nappies it is compulsory that they swim only with the use of a swim nappy. We are able to provide these at the pool for a small charge of £1 per swim nappy should you forget. Children over the age of four (check?!!) are required to wear a swim hat for their lessons these are available to purchase at the pool priced at £5 per hat.
